Junior Leaders

Welcome to the School Council page. As School Councillors, we gather pupils’ ideas and share them at our meetings. The School Councillors come to a fortnightly meeting on alternate Mondays. We discuss how to raise money and consider ideas that other children ask their representatives to bring to the meetings.

Children in Need
Every year, we fundraise for charities and try to include a local charity, national charity and a world charity. This year, we thought of a fantastic idea for Children in Need. The children in school were asked to bring in left over change and place it on a giant painting of Pudsey Bear in the centre of the hall. The children were also invited to come to school wearing brightly-coloured clothes to ‘Be Bold, Be Bright’. We raised an amazing £359.06 (but there is still more money that we have sent

off that we need to include! We think the final total will be nearer to £370!)

Pendleside Hospice
For Pendleside Hospice we made a donation of £300 from our annual Run, Jog, Walk event. A lady came in from the Hospice and we presented her with a huge cheque!

Lightning the Reindeer
Just before Christmas, we used some of our money for a special treat for all of our children. We arranged a surprise visit from Lightning the Reindeer! All of the children were delighted and loved meeting and stroking Lightning!

Every year- before Christmas time- each class has a budget of £10 to spend on resources. They create wonderful handmade crafts and sell them for reasonable prices at our KS 2 Christmas Extravaganza. This year we raised a fantastic £290.72, which we would like to spend on indoor games for each class.
