Mathematics

To start off the term we will be looking at ‘place value’. This will involve year 3 looking at numbers up to 1,000 and year 4 looking at numbers up to 10,000. We will learn how to partition numbers in different ways as well as strategies learned from ‘place value’ that we can transfer into our mental arithmetic. Moving on from this, we will look at addition and subtraction. We will continue to have a mastery approach, looking for the best strategies and apply skills learnt through problem solving and reasoning. We will continue to learn all of the times tables and improve on our rapid recall of multiplication and division facts through applications such as TTR.
