Grandparents Games Afternoon
This week, Elm Class had a lovely afternoon playing games with grandparents and other family members. As part of our History topic, we are exploring whether the games our grandparents played with are more exciting than modern day toys. We had lots of fun and decided vintage toys were the best.
Owl Visit
What an exciting day we had today. We had a visit from the owl sanctuary and had a hands-on experience with three beautiful owls. As part of our English work, we have read The Owl Who was Afraid of the Dark. Next week, we will start writing a non-chronological report using all the fantastic information we have learnt.

Life Education Bus
Elm Class were visited by Emma from the Life Education Bus. She shared lots of information about the human body and introduced us to Harold the Giraffe. We all had a great time and learnt lots.
Great Fire of London Workshop
Elm Class had an amazing day when they took part in a Great Fire of London workshop. In the morning, the children learnt what it would be like to live in 17th century London. They looked at clothes the rich and poor would have worn and completed some drama activities. We really enjoyed working as a team to carry water in small buckets to try and put out the fire. The highlight had to be using the water squirters just like the people did during the fire. In the afternoon we completed a charcoal drawing of the London skyline and played some Great Fire games. We had a great time, shared our knowledge and learnt so much more! Thank you to Sam for such a fun and educational day.
