Our Classroom Under the Sky
We have been introduced to our Classroom Under the Sky. We have been exploring what the word 'learning' means and how this can look different to the usual classroom environment. Oak Class were extremely keen to climb trees and swing like monkeys. We quickly learnt how to risk assess our surroundings to keep ourselves and others safe. Miss Parkinson was very impressed with how the children took responsibility for this. Oak Class have shown they are very creative in the outdoors and they aren't afraid to get their hands muddy. We have explored the idea of making mistakes and how this is part of our learning journey. Children have been very honest and open about mistakes they have made and how this has helped them. Oak Class have been working hard on team-building through blindfold challenges, making a collaborative bug hotel, shelter building and supporting their peers with new activities. We have even experienced camp-fire cooking, where we made an apple crumble! We will continue to participate in activities to push ourselves out of our comfort zone to become the best we can be.
