Extra Curricular Clubs
Throughout the academic year, we offer a wide range of extra-curricular clubs and activities for all our children to enjoy. These take place either during lunchtime or after school, providing opportunities for every child to get involved.
We believe these clubs play an important role in enriching our pupils’ learning experiences beyond the classroom. This year, we are excited to expand the variety of clubs available, tailoring them to the interests and passions of our children. After reviewing all the requests we’ve received, we are working hard to include as many as possible in our programme for the year ahead.
Clubs and Activities – Get Involved!
At the end of each half term, we share a Club List through the school app, showing all the exciting clubs running in the following term. Children can then choose which activities they’d like to join. Our clubs are always very popular, so sometimes we need to share out participation to make sure everyone gets a chance.
Some of our clubs lead to amazing opportunities beyond school. For example, our Choir takes part in the Let’s Go Sing Concert at King George’s Hall—a fantastic experience for our young singers!
We also have Play Leaders who help make lunchtimes active and fun. They organise games and events encouraging everyone to join in.
Our School Council meets termly to support the development of clubs and works closely with Mrs Dugdale and the Governors to make important decisions for our school community.
St. James’ Lanehead is a busy, vibrant school with so much to offer. Keep an eye out for your next Club List and get involved in all the wonderful learning experiences available!

Lego Club
Lego Club Lunchtime Fun!
Our Lego Club has been a huge hit! The children have loved spending their lunchtimes building and creating. From imaginative structures to clever designs, they’ve produced some truly wonderful creations.
It’s fantastic to see their creativity. Well done to all our budding builders!
PASTA Project
Every Thursday, a group of our pupils and one of their family members join us in school for a special activity. Together, they prepare and cook a delicious meal, learning new skills along the way. While the food is cooking, everyone takes part in fun sports activities before returning to enjoy the meal they’ve created. It’s a wonderful way to share time, learn, and stay active!
