Forest School Sessions
Spring Term
Forest School Adventures – Big Schools' Bird Watch 2026! ![]()
This half term, Willow, Hazel and Rowan classes have been taking part in the Big Schools' Bird Watch 2026 during their Forest School sessions. The children have been busy spotting and identifying the different birds visiting our school grounds, as well as getting hands-on making bird feeders and building structures using natural resources.
They had a fantastic time learning outdoors, working together, exploring nature, and developing their observation skills.
We can't wait to continue the adventure next half term!
Autumn Term
During the Autumn term, Oak, Hawthorn and Sycamore Classes all took part in their Forest School sessions — and what a wonderful term it has been! The children absolutely loved spending time in our “classroom under the sky”, exploring the outdoors and developing new skills in nature. It has been a joy to watch them grow in confidence, creativity, and curiosity each week.
To celebrate the end of their Forest School sessions for the year, the children enjoyed a special festive finale. They crafted their very own Christmas decorations before gathering around the fire to toast delicious s’mores! 🔥✨
Throughout the year, the children have embraced every opportunity the Forest School has offered. They have:
🏕 Built dens
🌳 Climbed trees
💭 Reflected on how Forest School makes them feel
🦔 Created woodland creatures
🍎 Harvested fruit from the orchard
🌍 Constructed world landmarks
🔍 Taken part in treasure hunts and obstacle courses
🌱 Planted trees
We are incredibly lucky to have such a fantastic Forest School area for the children to explore, discover and enjoy.
A huge thank you to Mrs Dallison and Mrs Fyles, our amazing Forest School Leaders, for their hard work, enthusiasm and creativity in planning such rich, hands‑on learning experiences for the children. 🌿💚
