Hazel Class - Ribchester Roman Museum

Hazel class had a brilliant visit to Ribchester Roman Museum. We loved learning more about the Romans and enjoyed sharing what we had learned so far in class. We learnt about where the Romans came from, the spread of the empire, the reasons why they invaded Britain and more about Ribchester.

We dressed up in replica Roman armour and helmets and tried to march in it but it was very heavy! We also learnt about what life would be like as a Roman soldier.

We looked at some artefacts and art to teach us more about Roman life. There was fragments of pottery, bones and metal objects. We thought about what we were handling by looking at their physical attributes, function and design.

We also visited the visible remains of the fort in Ribchester.

At the end of the visit we explored the museum which was full of Roman objects and information.
