Family Fridays

Family Fridays at Our School

Throughout the year, our pastoral team host Family Fridays to celebrate special events and create memorable experiences for our school community. These sessions invite family members into school to take part in a variety of fun and engaging activities alongside the children.

Our Family Fridays are always a huge success! They provide a wonderful opportunity for families to share in their child’s learning journey, and we are delighted to have received so much positive feedback from parents about how much they enjoy these events.

Autumn 1

EYFS Stay and Play Event

To celebrate the start of their learning journey, we recently held a Family Friday event in the classroom for our new EYFS pupils. This gave families the opportunity to explore their child’s new learning environment, meet the staff, and see firsthand the exciting spaces where their children will grow, play, and learn.

It was wonderful to see parents and carers engaging with the activities and sharing in the excitement of this new chapter. Thank you to everyone who joined us.

 Willow Class - Family Friday

In October, we welcomed Willow Class families into school for a special Family Friday event. The session was designed around the exciting topics the children have been exploring in class. Families joined in hands-on activities such as sewing projects, designing their own trolls, and discovering what our school was like in the olden days. There were also opportunities to learn about animals and discuss healthy eating habits.

Autumn 2

Hazel Class - Family Friday

Hazel Class enjoyed a fantastic Family Friday filled with creative activities linked to their curriculum. Families worked together on vibrant bonfire and firework art using chalk on black card, and shared their Spanish firework poems. Children explored poetry further by writing their own autumn-themed verses to link in with English. There was also the oppertunity to investigate magnets and create thoughtful family prayers. Children also crafted poppies for a Remembrance wreath and lots more. It was a wonderful celebration of learning and community!

Spring 1

Sycamore Class - Family Friday

This half term, Sycamore Class enjoyed a fantastic Family Friday afternoon. The children began by proudly performing a dance they have been working on during their PE lessons. Their confidence shone through — and the highlight of the moment was when they invited parents and carers to join in the fun and dance along with them!

Following the performance, families spent the rest of the afternoon taking part in a range of engaging activities linked to the children’s current learning in class, including Spanish bingo and a Tudor Treasure Hunt!
