Sports Events
Our pupils have lots of wonderful opportunities throughout the year to take part in a wide range of sporting events, all ran by Burnley Sports Partnership. A great deal of time, planning, and dedication goes into making these events possible, ensuring that our children can enjoy new experiences, try different sports, and meet other pupils from across our community.
We are incredibly grateful for the hard work that goes into each event, and we are so proud of how enthusiastically our pupils get involved. These opportunities not only help develop skills and teamwork but also build confidence and friendships.
Here are some of the Events we have taken part in so far this year:
Cross Country Event
Some of our pupils took part in the Burnley School Sport Partnership Cross Country Event at Towneley Park.
We are so proud of the children for challenging themselves and representing our school so brilliantly.

Lancashire School Football Association Tournament
HUGE CONGRATULATIONS to Our Football Squad!
Our team delivered a brilliant performance, playing in the Lancashire Schools Football Association Tournament. We played three matches, winning two, and drawing one—finishing top of the group! ![]()
This fantastic achievement means we are officially through to the semi-final. Well done to all the players for their hard work and determination. We couldn’t be prouder!

Girls Football
Our girls’ football team played their very first matches this week, and they were amazing! They represented our school brilliantly and had a fabulous time on the pitch. ![]()
We drew one match and lost the other — a fantastic start for their first games. We’re so proud of each and every one of them!

KS2 Panathlon Event
This week, some of our Year 6 pupils had the opportunity to attend an event at Barden Primary School. They took part in a range of activities including curling, basketball, target throwing and parachute games — and they were fantastic!
They represented our school brilliantly, supported each other, and gave their very best in every activity. We couldn’t be prouder.

Speed Stacking
We were so proud to take part in a fantastic Speed Stacking event organised by Burnley School Sports Partnership last week! Our children had an amazing time — they never stopped smiling, challenging themselves, and trying to beat their previous times. ![]()
Throughout the morning, we took part in a range of fun activities to help us prepare for the big competition in the afternoon. As always, our children were exemplary. They showed incredible resilience, perseverance, teamwork, and effort from start to finish. We couldn’t be prouder! ![]()
Athletics
Our Year 5 and 6 pupils did brilliantly at the Indoor Athletics Town Qualifiers. They showed great effort, teamwork, and sportsmanship throughout. It was especially lovely to see some children taking part in their first ever school sports event - and cheering each other on all the way.

KS1 Panathlon
Some of our Key Stage One children were invited to take part in the Key Stage One Panathlon event recently, organised by BSSP. The children had a fantastic time taking part in a range of activities, including running, jumping, throwing, balancing and kicking.
As always, they showed great enthusiasm, tried their very best and supported one another throughout the event. We are incredibly proud of their teamwork, determination and positive attitude.
