DT – Design and make a Christmas ornament 

We have designed a new Christmas ornament making sure it matches with the decorations we have at home. We have practised running and cross stitiches previously learnt and used these to decorate the front of our ornaments. Our next step is to learn how to use blanket stitch to attach our two pieces together.  

Next, we learnt how to attach our 2 pieces of felt together using blanket stitch - this was a tricky stitch for us so it took lots of patience and perseverance!  We then stuffed our toys and, again, used blanket stitch to close them up.  Here are our finished products which we took home with us to help decorate our homes at Christmas.

Sycamore class worship – TRUST 

This half term we planned and performed our class worship in front of our parents and carers, staff and children at school. First, we thought about what trust is and what qualities people who we trust have. We learnt a new song and acted out the story of David and Goliath which illustrated the trust that David had in God. Our audience really enjoyed it and were amazed by the effort all the children had put into learning their lines, acting and singing a new song. 

Science

In Science we have been learning about forces. We were asked to make a new parachute which would fall as slowly as possible. We thought about the different variables then chose one to investigate. We made three parachutes making sure to keep it a fair test by keeping all of the other variables the same.
