Elm Class have continued to work hard in the second half of Spring term! We have been so pleased with how well everyone has approached their work and we have seen some fantastic pieces of work.
In Year 1, We read 'Major Glad, Major Dizzy' by Jan Oke. We imagined we were one of the toys and wrote a letter about our experience under the floorboards.
In Science, we have been finding out about materials. We explored different groups and carried out lots of experiments. We discovered that a hairdryer is the quickest way to free Dizzy from a block of ice.
In Geography, we looked at hot and cold places in the world. We learned what life is like in extreme temperatures and stated which climate we would prefer.
In Reception, we are continuing to build on the sounds we know and are now very good at reading words confidently. We have read lots of books linked to our topics including ones about people who help us. We are now continuing to write longer sentences that make sense. In Maths, we have continued to learn about numbers up to 10. We can recognise, write, and represent the numbers. We are using lots of resources and manipulatives to help us build up visual memory.
There are many more highlights in Elm Class including right and responsibilities in PSHE, exploring using paper to create 3D images in Art, creating a series of animated pictures in Computing, lots of fundamental movements in PE and an exciting new street dance.
Thank you to everyone for your continued support, it is greatly appreciated. The children are amazing us with their eagerness to learn, they are making so much progress and making us very proud.
